The grand prize winner will be flown into Kuala Lumpur International Airport via business-class, be given a two-night’s stay in a five-star hotel and the services of a personal shopper as they go on their RM1 million shopping spree at KLIA at the end of the Campaign period.
Speaking at the launch of the 2012/2013 ITUF Campaign, Puan Faizah Khairuddin, Senior General Manager, Commercial Services, Malaysia Airports, said: “The Indulge Till You Fly Campaign is an annual event aimed at giving travellers and visitors various options and opportunities to indulge themselves and be rewarded handsomely.
“It underpins our strategic move – to raise awareness that airports are lifestyle destinations with lots to offer, sometimes, more so than downtown malls.
“This is the third year we are running our Indulge Till You Fly Campaign. Each year, we aim a little higher, we strive a little harder to offer travellers that added edge. This year’s ITUF campaign with its RM1 million shopping spree offering is our biggest reward yet for a traveller to/from Malaysia.”
Malaysia Airports’ 2012/2013 ITUF Campaign will be held from 19 July 2012 till 28 February 2013 at all international airports – KLIA/LCCT-KLIA, Langkawi International Airport, Penang International Airport, Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
To participate in the Campaign, travellers need to spend a minimum of RM250 at any participating F&B or retail outlets at thefive participating international airports. With that amount, they will automatically be entitled to instant cash shopping vouchers worth RM10. Addtionally, they will stand a chance to win one of the seven (7) monthly indulger prizes of RM10,000 each in shopping vouchers. Cardholders who use their MasterCard branded cards will receive double the shopping vouchers and double the contest entry forms, increasing their chances to be the grand prize winner and/or winner of one of the seven (7) monthly indulger Revealed Puan Faizah : “Malaysia Airports has adopted a more efficient and hassle-free way for traveller to participate in the Campaign.
We have placed self-service Campaign e-kiosks throughout our international airports where eligible participants can use to participate.” Eligible participants can take part in the Contest using the Indulge & Win e-kiosks and to redeem their on-the-spot shopping vouchers. All they have to do is to scan the receipts of their purchases and passport details; answer questions related to the Campaign; and redeem their RM10 shopping vouchers on the spot. Information captured at the kiosks will be uploaded to an off-site server computer that will randomly select seven indulger prize winners each month and, finally, the ultimate Grand Prize winner of RM1,000,000.
“The use of the self-service kiosks will once again place our international airports ahead of the pack in technology-based retail and lifestyle experience. Our airports are the first in the country to make use of this technology, ahead of the bigger downtown malls as well as other international airports.
“The self-service kiosks will be a real boon to travellers in terms of convenience, offering them an easy way to be part of the Indulge Till You Fly Campaign and be rewarded. It is a great way to engage our customers.
“This on-going employment of technology will continue to be an integral part of the lifestyle experiences that Malaysia Airports is striving to give to our customers,” added Puan Faizah. 40 units of the self-service kiosks will be place at the five international airports around the country.
Aside from the contest MasterCard provides exclusive MasterCard lounges at KLIA. World MasterCard cardholders will be able to access this exclusive lounge to rest and relax upon presenting their World MasterCard branded card at the registration counter.
Cardholders who charge a minimum of RM250.00 to their MasterCard branded cards at participating retail outlets and food and beverage outlets in KLIA will also be eligible to enjoy the lounge.
Elaborating on the move by Malaysia Airports to expand its technological reach at its international airports to meet the demands of today’s travellers, Puan Faizah commented: “Other than connections, airports today offer travellers a richer and more diverse experience. This is part and parcel of the evolving role of airports – from functional hubs to lifestyle destinations.
“It is very important for Malaysia Airports, as a global airport operator and manager, to ensure that a traveller’s encounter with Malaysia, via the country’s key gateways, begins and ends on a sweet and memorable note. It is all part of what is deemed the total lifestyle experience; embedding Malaysia in the psyche of the traveller.”
