Malaysia Airports, together with GMR, Airport Authority of India, GVL Investment, Fraport and India Development Fund was given the task of modernising and restructuring this airport. MAHB also assists in the development, operations, maintenance and business affairs of the Delhi International Airport.

The partnership commenced in 4 April 2006 and since then the construction activities that have taken place includes:

• Expansion works on the Domestic Terminal (expected to complete by August 2008)
• Refurbishment of the International Terminal T2
• Construction of new Runway (expected to complete by July 2008)
• Integrated Terminal (expected to complete by March 2010)
