The Sultan Abdul Halim Airport is located 13 km from Alor Setar town, and can handle up to 800,000 passengers annually.
Its new terminal began operations in 5th May 2006, in anticipation of traffic growth. It has the capacity to meet Airbus 330 operations needs as the runway has been extended from the 1,963 meters long and 45 meters wide to 2,745 meters long and 45 meters wide. |
