We explore new opportunities and invest in initiatives that strengthen the social well-being and relationships with local communities at our airports to promote these five SDGs:
GOAL 1:No Poverty
End poverty in all its forms everywhere and ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services by 2030.
GOAL 3:Good Health And Well-Being
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
GOAL 4:Quality Education
Provide opportunities to quality education for all primary and secondary school students and ensure the acquiring of essential knowledge and skills for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship amongst students.
GOAL 10:Reduced Inequalities
Empower and promote social, economic and political inclusion of all regardless of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or statuses.
GOAL 17:Partnership For The Goals
Encourage and promote effective public, public-private and civil society partnerships, building on the experience and resourcing strategies of partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
To ensure these goals are supported continuously, several programmes have been designed by Malaysia Airports to benefit the community:
Community Enrichment & Youth EmpowermentThrough Education
Through this pillar, we aim to elevate the community's livelihood by investing in and spearheading enrichment and environmental consciousness projects among communities surrounding our airports nationwide.Additionally, we aim to support the national education agenda by enhancing academic performance and fostering leadership development in students through the High Fliers Programme.
Among the key projects under this pillar are Ceria Aidilfitri, Food Aid programme, Mangrove Tree Planting, Back To School programme, School Airport Tour programme and Bursary programme.
Within the High Fliers Programme, which is the leadership development programme for eligible employees' children, we have put in place various activities including participation in the Outward Bound School module, the Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy Module, and the Mandarin Language Module.
