Accident On The Runway Of Subang Airport

SUBANG- This morning at approximately 3.20am, an accident had happened on the Runway of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport Subang involving a private aircraft and an airport engineering vehicle. We are saddened to inform that our staff who was the driver of the vehicle was critically injured. The staff is currently undergoing surgery and we are ensuring that he receives the best medical care, as we pray for his recovery. 

The incident was first reported to our Airport Fire and Rescue Service team who arrived at the scene at 3.21am for the rescue. The passengers and cabin crew of the aircraft were safe and unharmed during the incident. 

Some arrival flights were affected as they were held back at the airport of origin during the process of clearing the debris on the runway, resulting from the accident. Flight operations resumed to normal from 9am onwards. 

In the meantime, Malaysia Airport has formed an investigation team and is working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) to investigate the root cause of the accident. The Ministry of Transport has also activated its ‘Bahagian Siasatan Kemalangan Udara’ (BSKU) to carry out a thorough investigation of the incident.
