“Are You The Goldenaire” Grand Winner Goes Home With 200g Gold Bar

SEPANG – The grand prize winner of the Malaysia Airports “Are You The Goldenaire” shopping campaign went home with a 200g gold bar today. The grand winner, (winner’s name) was among the 49 winners who attended the prize giving ceremony held at the Malaysia Airports Corporate Office earlier this morning. The 6-month long shopping campaign was held in conjunction with the organisation’s e-commerce platform, shopMYairports’ first birthday September last year and aimed to establish its position as the premium travel-retail online shopping platform in the country. shopMYairports is part of the organisation's long-term digitisation initiative to help facilitate the growth of airport retailers and lay the foundation to transform its airports into shopping and lifestyle destinations.

The “Are You The Goldenaire” campaign rewarded shoppers with the grand prize of a specially curated 200g gold bar featuring a fine silhouette of the KL International Airport (KLIA) and monthly prizes of 2.5g gold wafers worth up to RM100,000. Shoppers participated in the campaign by buying RM10 Goldenaire shopping vouchers and redeeming them through purchases made on the shopMYairports e-commerce platform between September 2021 to 28 February 2022. 

The senior general manager of Commercial Services Malaysia Airports, Puan Hani Ezra Hussin said, “We are very encouraged by the high participation rate, and we may extend this campaign for another term. We are proud to share that the total sales generated from the campaign was 3.91 times more than our initial target. Online shopping continues to remain popular especially in this new normal and we will engage more with our airport retailers to expand the offerings on the platform. We will be launching the ‘Click and Collect’ option soon for our travel exclusive items so that passengers can pre-purchase the items on our platform before collecting them at the airport before departure or upon arrival. This option provides further convenience and flexibility to shoppers as they will not have to rush through their journey at the airport.”

Further to the new ‘Click and Collect’ feature, shopMYairports will also be offering duty-free products to shoppers soon. Again, these goods can be easily collected at the ‘Click & Collect’ counters in the terminal.
