Curiosity Wins klia2 Traveller All-expenses Paid Trip To The Land Down Under!

Sepang, 5 September 2014 – Carmen Lee Chia Mun (李佳雯), 16, wanted more time to “explore” the newly-opened klia2 so she decided to arrive early at the spanking new airport to bid ‘bon voyage’ to a friend who was going on vacation. Little did she imagine that her curiosity would win her and her family an all-expenses paid trip to Australia – thanks to Malaysia Airports!

“All I wanted to do was to check out the new airport! I heard so much about the shopping and outlets, how it is called an airport-within-a-mall. Naturally I was curious. While there, I decided to buy some chocolates and was told about the Destination Curious campaign.

“I decided to take part not thinking that I would actually win the grand prize! I’m ecstatic! I am really looking forward to this free holiday with my parents and sister!” enthused Carmen, who hails from Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

The “Destination Curious” Campaign was launched in conjunction with the official opening of klia2. The Campaign included a “Wonderful Visit to Oz” contest with the grand prize being an all-expenses paid holiday for four to Gold Coast Australia in December 2014.

While in Australia, Carmen and her family will be visiting SeaWorld and Movie World. They will also be taken by their local guide to other noteworthy sights. To top it all, each of them will be given AUD1,000 pocket money

“This is an unexpected present for me and my family! I am super excited! We’ve never been to Gold Coast ever! We are all looking forward to the holiday! Thank you Malaysia Airports!” said Carmen.

A minimum purchase of RM150 at klia2 was required to enter the “Wonderful Trip to Oz” contest. The grand prize winner was selected from all the participants of the contest via a computerized selection process.

Malaysia Airports received approximately 9,700 entries from international, regional and domestic travelers throughout the six-week duration of the contest.

“Destination Curious” is the commercial proposition of klia2. With it, Malaysia Airports is challenging the mindset of travelers, urging them extend their travel experience and, with it, the realization that travels do not necessarily begin or end when one is on board. It actually starts and ends with klia2 retail.
