Kuala Lumpur, 28 April 2014 - Malaysia Airports received an overwhelming response from public at klia2 Open Day on Sunday, 27 April, and hosted 78,000 visitors throughout the day, more than triple its earlier estimation of 20,000 visitors.
The visitors' number hit 20,000 even before noon, with visitors flowing in non-stop as early as 8.00am, an hour before the registration counters open. Long queues can be spotted at the registration counters and also at tour checkpoints.
Malaysia Airports extended the klia2 Open Day closing yesterday to 7.00 pm, from 5.00 pm to allow the public more time for the tours as the crowd was still heavy even in the late afternoon.
Malaysia Airports would also like to inform the public that the klia2 Open Day was meant as a one-day event only, on Sunday 27 April. The klia2 terminal will be closed for further cleaning and final preparation from now until the terminal officially commence operations on Friday, 2 May 2014.
Malaysia Airports would like to thank all visitors coming to the klia2 Open Day and for all the positive and constructive feedback that were received from visitors. Malaysia Airports hopes to have more similar engagements with the public towards the betterment of services and facilities at klia2 in the future.
