Malaysia Airports Signs Concession With NADI To Develop Land at Subang Airport

LANGKAWI - Malaysia Airports signed into a long-term concession with National Aerospace & Defence Industries (NADI) to develop 14 acres land at Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (LTSAAS), Subang for maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO) services, and aircraft conversion hangars.

This strategic partnership between Malaysia Airports and NADI demonstrates both parties’ commitment to further develop Malaysia into a regional aerospace hub. Through this collaboration, both parties will be able to expand and support the industry’s future growth by serving its growing customer base better with the development of a MRO and aircraft conversion centre.

Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports signed the agreement on behalf of Malaysia Airports while NADI was represented by Dato’ Mohamad Elkany Ahmad, Group Chief Executive Officer of NADI. YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Transport, Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, Chairman of Malaysia Airports and Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Ahmad Johan, President of NADI witnessed the signing ceremony, during Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2015 held at the Ministry of Transport Pavilion, Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC).

Datuk Badlisham said, “Malaysia Airports is pleased to have signed this agreement because NADI definitely has the right capacity and experience to make this project a success. They are a Malaysian-based industry-leading provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for military fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, who has also ventured into civil aircraft MRO and has established their presence in this region through its wholly-owned subsidiary AIROD Aerospace Technology Sdn. Bhd.”

Malaysia Airports is confident that the development of this 14 acres of land at LTSAAS will further position Malaysia as a global aerospace player with Malaysia Airports as one of the main drivers in the aerospape industry.
