Malaysia Airports Ushers In A Roaring Chinese New Year With Lion Dance Performance At Kl International Airport

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports kicked off its Chinese New Year celebration with a thrilling Lion Dance performance and special appearance from the God of Prosperity at the KL International Airport (IATA Code: KUL) earlier today. Guests who are travelling via KUL can also enjoy the vibrant festive decorations at both its terminals, KLIA Main and klia2 that have been decked with traditional Chinese pavilions, red lanterns and cherry blossoms. Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, group chief executive officer of Malaysia Airports and the senior management team who were present during the celebration greeted our airport guests with mandarin oranges and special festive goodies as a symbol of prosperity and luck.

Raja Azmi said, “Every festival creates memorable moments at the airport as we are able to witness the joy and happiness as passengers awaiting to board their flights back to their hometown. At the arrival halls, we see the reunion of passengers with their loved ones in warm embraces and big smiles. We are delighted to share these moments with them, and we want to make them extra special by providing fun and meaningful activities that coincide with the festival. Hence, this Chinese New Year, we have lined up special cultural performances such as the Lion Dance, and paper sculpting workshop for the young ones to appreciate the ancient Chinese traditional folk art that dates back to the 6th century.”

Among the contests that will be lined up during the festive period for our airport guests include capturing the best shot of our Chinese New Year decoration and uploading it to social media to win a Limited Edition Kembara Bag worth of RM88. For those who are looking for a challenge, just spend a minimum of RM38 to participate in our ‘Count & Win’ contest for a chance to win a Huawei MATE 20. All you have to do is count the number of red packets hanging on our giant cherry blossom tree located at our departure halls - Level 5 of KLIA Main Terminal and Level 3 of klia2 Main Terminal.

Malaysia Airports like to reward travelers and airport patrons for supporting our retail offerings. On top of that, shoppers who spend a minimum of RM288 at any of our retail and F&B outlets in our international airports will be entitled to redeem one pack of Malaysia Airports limited edition Ang Pow packets or two packs of Ang Pow packets for UnionPay holders. The international airports include KUL, Penang International Airport, Langkawi International Airport, Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Meanwhile, shoppers who spend a minimum of RM1,688 by using UnionPay card or RM1,888 via other payment services in a single receipt at KLIA Main may also redeem a Royal Selangor Premium gift and Ang Pow packets.
