SEPANG - Suzaliana Samuri, Manager for Performance Compliance and Security Assurance, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad was recently announced as an honoree in (ISC)²’s ninth annual Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (ISLA) Program under the “Managerial Professional for Information Security Project’ category. Suzaliana and other honorees from Asia Pacific region was celebrated in a special recognition Gala Dinner held on July 29, 2015 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, Philippines. (ISC)² is the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified information and software security professionals with nearly 110,000 members worldwide.
“It is a tremendous honour to be selected in the 2015 Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (ISLATM) which ultimately recognises the hard work of the workforce achievements of top information security professionals from Asia-Pacific in advancing the industry and hopefully this recognition will inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals,” Suzaliana said.
“I am privileged to be leading a team of truly committed and dedicated people in Malaysia Airports, who work incredibly hard to deliver our very best to secure our systems and infrastructure.”
Suzaliana was recognised for her project “Information Security Implementation”, the objective of which was to create and spread information security awareness amongst employees in Malaysia Airports. It was also to ensure an effective information security implementation throughout the IT Division and Malaysia Airports as a whole.
The highlight of her achievement was the implementation of ISM ISO/ IEC 27001:2013 Certification (Information Security Management System) for Malaysia Airports’s IT Division, Procurement and Contract Division, Human Resources Division, Langkawi International Airport, Penang International Airport and its subsidiary, Malaysia Airports Consultancy Services.
Since its establishment, Malaysia Airports has embarked on the implementation of information security governance through Information Security Management Committee (ISMC), Malaysia Airports Information Security Policy (MAISP) as well as active participation in National Critical Information Infrastructure (NCII).
Professionals were nominated in three distinct categories: Information Security Practitioner, Managerial Professional for an Information Security Project and Senior Information Security Professional.The 2015 (ISC)² Asia-Pacific ISLA Nomination Review Committee is comprised of members of the (ISC)² Asia-Pacific Advisory Council and previous Asia-Pacific ISLA honorees.
