KLIA And LIA Are Among World’s Best Airports For Year 2021 In Global Airport Survey

SEPANG – The global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI) has named KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LIA) as among the world’s best airports in their respective categories for the year 2021. KLIA and LIA achieved a perfect score of 5.00 in the airport categories serving over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) and 2-5 mppa respectively. ASQ benchmarks the world’s best airports in terms of overall passenger satisfaction for terminal safety, facilities, services, and cleanliness.

Malaysia Airports Calls For Tender Of 226 Commercial Lots As Traffic Gradually Improves At Airports Nationwide

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is undergoing an open tender exercise for 226 commercial lots following the recent improvement in air traffic movements as a result of the easing of air travel restrictions. Currently, airports nationwide have a total of 808 commercial outlets, whereby about 70% have been tendered out previously and majority of this has been awarded. In executing the Group’s commercial reset initiative, this last leg of the tender for 226 commercial lots is the concluding phase to attract both local and global players to participate in offering new brands at the airports nationwid

74% Increase In Domestic Passenger Movements For September Contributes To Optimistic Outlook In Q4

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports’ domestic passenger movements in September surged by 74% from the preceding month following the success of the Langkawi Travel Bubble and the progress of the National Recovery Plan (NRP). Due to the surge, the Group saw a 55% increase in total passenger movements for Malaysia last month at 458,000 passengers (Dom: 362,000 / Int: 96,000). Domestic aircraft movements increased by about 20% last month as well when compared to August, registering more than 10,000 flights.

Airports Nationwide Ready To Welcome Travellers And Remain Vigilant In Implementing Safety Measures

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is glad to welcome travellers back to its network of 39 airports today with the lifting of local and international travel restrictions. Despite low passenger volume, airports nationwide remained in operations throughout the pandemic and had used the lull period to ensure a safe airport experience in anticipation of travel resumption. Apart from the implementation of safety measures to restore air travel confidence, facilities have also been upgraded to further enhance the travelling experience.

New Private COVID-19 Screening Facility At KLIA Now Open

SEPANG – International passengers arriving at KL International Airport (KLIA) can now experience its new private COVID-19 screening facility that promises safe, convenient and efficient testing procedures. This Health Screening Centre started operating yesterday (19 September 2021) and is able to provide COVID-19 RTK, Rapid Molecular PCR and RT-PCR results within 15 minutes, 1 hour and 3 hours respectively, resulting in shorter wait times for passengers. This testing facility is available at five locations in KLIA Main Terminal and three at klia2.

KLIA Moves Up To Be World’s Top 9 Airport In Q1 2021

SEPANG – KL International Airport’s (KLIA) improves its ranking further to be the world’s top 9 airport in Q1 2021 for the category of over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa). The Airports Council International (ACI) recently announced the results of the global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) that benchmarks the world’s best airports. KLIA achieved a score of 4.99 over 5.00, from 4.98 in 2020.

KUALA TERENGGANU– Seramai lebih 1,000 keluarga B40 dari tiga negeri termasuk 290 keluarga di Terengganu telah menerima keperluan asas sempena Ramadan daripada Malaysia Airports menerusi program Tanggungjawab Korporat (CR) organisasi tersebut iaitu #MYAirportCARES Ceria Ramadan. Sejumlah RM48,140 telah diperuntukkan khas bagi pemberian sumbangan penerima di Kuala Terengganu bertujuan untuk meringankan beban golongan ibu atau bapa tunggal, orang kurang upaya, warga emas serta komuniti lapangan terbang yang terkesan akibat penularan wabak COVID-19. 

Safety First As Malaysia Airports Replaces 17 Fire Vehicles Nationwide

SEPANG – Safety remains a top priority for Malaysia Airports with the replacement of 17 aging fire vehicles, which are reaching their maximum lifespan, at 13 airports nationwide. The new fire vehicles are to serve the Airport Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) and will be delivered in four phases by year 2023. This replacement exercise of fire vehicles is in accordance with the safety compliance guidelines by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in operating an airport.

Clarification On ‘Ramadan Bazaar’ At KL International Airport

SEPANG – We wish to clarify that the ‘Ramadan Bazaar’ at KL International Airport that is currently being shared by netizens through a video is merely a promotional effort by one food and beverage (F&B) outlet managed by Eraman at Terminal 1 KL International Airport (KLIA).

The F&B outlet called Eraman Mini Cafe has been in operations at Terminal 1 KLIA since October 2020 and is currently opened from 3 pm to 9 pm daily (pre-Ramadan operating hours: 8 am to 4 pm) serving the needs of the airport community and passengers.

20 New International Destinations And 80 Additional Domestic Flights Expected To Boost Air Travel

SEPANG – A total of 20 new international destinations and 80 additional domestic flights are expected to boost air travel further for the network of airports operated by Malaysia Airports including its Turkish asset, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG). Some of the new destinations include Hamburg, Basel, Zurich, Sarajevo, Copenhagen, Lyon, and Hannover for flights from ISG with up to 25 weekly frequencies. At KLIA, Malaysia’s flag carrier Malaysia Airlines has reinstated destinations such as London and Jakarta.
