Airports Nationwide Ready To Welcome Travellers And Remain Vigilant In Implementing Safety Measures

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is glad to welcome travellers back to its network of 39 airports today with the lifting of local and international travel restrictions. Despite low passenger volume, airports nationwide remained in operations throughout the pandemic and had used the lull period to ensure a safe airport experience in anticipation of travel resumption. Apart from the implementation of safety measures to restore air travel confidence, facilities have also been upgraded to further enhance the travelling experience.

SEPANG - Langkawi International Airport (LGK) once again won the 2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Asia-Pacific for the third consecutive year.  Announced recently by Airports Council International (ACI) World, this award solidifies the airport's reputation as a top-notch facility that consistently delivers exceptional service and satisfaction to its passengers.

KLIA & Langkawi International Airport Are World’s No.1 For Q2 2021

SEPANG – KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LGK) are the world’s No.1 airports for Q2 2021 in the latest global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI). Both airports achieved a perfect score of 5.0/5.0 in the industry survey that benchmarks the world’s best airports in terms of facilities and service standards. KLIA was previously in the 9th spot, scoring 4.99/5.0 for Q1 in the over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) category whereas LGK was in 3rd spot with the score of 4.97/5.00 in the 2-5 mppa category.

Launch of Discover Langkawi Campaign

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports continues to position the country as a global hub by promoting inbound tourism into Langkawi through its strategic partnership with Malaysia Airlines in the all-new Discover Langkawi Campaign. The campaign is supported by the Langkawi International Tourism Promotional Fund (LITPF) that was launched earlier this year for airlines, travel agents and destination marketing companies to market and attract more international tourists to the beautiful island that is known as the Jewel of Malaysia.

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports’ significant contribution to the growth of both the tourism and aviation industries was further heightened when Langkawi International Airport (IATA Code: LGK) received the Highly Commended recognition in the ‘Under 4 million passengers’ category at the prestigious Routes Asia 2019 Marketing Awards that was recently held in Cebu, Philippines.

Langkawi International Airport Upgrades Its Air-Conditioning System

LANGKAWI - Langkawi International Airport (IATA Code: LGK) is currently upgrading its air-conditioning system in phases at specific areas of the terminal from now till 15 March 2019. Areas that are affected by this upgrading exercise are the check-in counters, customs office, Nooodles Restaurant, international and domestic arrival halls as well as the domestic departure hall.
