1. Baggage Scam
Baggage scams are when scammers attempt to trick travellers that they have issues with excess baggage charges. If you encounter anyone asking for your help or encounter others facing this issue, direct them to the relevant authority or seek assistance from our customer service to avoid any untoward incidents.

2. Travel Scam
Travel scams occur when travellers purchase tour packages from travel agents or agencies which are usually cheaper than what is offered in the market. After travellers have purchased the packages, they would be stranded at the airport with their details not listed in the airlines’ system.
Remember to check the legitimacy of the travel agent or agency. You may do so at www.motac.gov.my/en/check/tobtab.

3. Sympathy Scam
Scammers would share a story to the victim trying to gain sympathy so that they can borrow money. For example, they ask to borrow money after losing their wallet and handphone, but they can’t miss their flight.

4. Customs and Immigration Scam
Be very careful with calls from unknown numbers impersonating Customs and Immigration Officers. The calls would inform the victim of a friend that has been detained for failing to declare the money they brought into the country. Victims would be asked to transfer money to the officer to release the friend.
There are no such fees or penalty payments to release travellers who have failed to declare their money. If you have received such calls, please directly contact the Customs and Immigration Department.

5. Love Scam
Love scams happen when scammers dupe victims into paying for their debts and travel fees with the hopes of finally meeting each other in real life. Do not believe online relationships that ask you for money.

6. Employment Scam
Beware of companies offering jobs abroad with lucrative salaries, especially job offers received through social media or mobile apps. There are also employment scams pretending to be of an established company and asking the victim to pay for processing fee. When receiving job offers, check if the company is a legitimate company and call to enquire about the job offer.

7. Unauthorised Use of the Eraman Brand
It has come to our attention that irresponsible and unauthorised parties are misusing our brand, including the name, logo, visuals, and imagery, to sell merchandise online at exceptionally low prices. Some of these products may be counterfeit.
We wish to clarify that any links or sources that do not originate from our official communication platforms are not associated with ERAMAN. We urge you to exercise caution when engaging with such links, especially for purchasing goods.
Please understand that ERAMAN cannot be held responsible for any financial losses, expenses, or damages arising from transactions with these unauthorised sources. These include non-authorised links, counterfeit apps, online sales on social media platforms or websites.

Malaysia Airports does not engage in the sale of lost items or luggage under any circumstances. Scammers may create fake profiles or pages on social media platforms, luring you with enticing deals on lost belongings.
If you come across such online listings, please do not engage with them and report the page or profile to the respective platform. Authentic information regarding lost and found items can be obtained through official Malaysia Airports channels and customer service.
