Educational Fun For Students From SK Bukit Bangkong (Asli) At Kidzania Through  Malaysia Airports’ Community Enrichment Programme.

Over 120 students experience  real life occupations through one-day hands-on exploration at Kidzania Kuala Lumpur

PETALING JAYA –Malaysia Airports sponsored more than 120 students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Bangkong (Asli) to a one-day fun learning experience at Kidzania Kuala Lumpur earlier today as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives under the Community Enrichment pillar. The students ranging between 7 to 12 years old were chaperoned by 30 volunteers from Malaysia Airports’ ‘Skuad Ceria’ throughout the exciting excursion at the educational themepark well-known for its experiencial learning activities.

Present at the event were the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Department and Member of Parliament of Sepang, YB Mohamed Hanipa bin Maidin; Senior General Manager of Commercial Services Malaysia Airports, Mohammad Nazli Abdul Aziz; and General Manager of KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Shahrul Nizar Ahmad.

According to Nazli, the airport operator aims to give back to society by organising community enrichment programmes that will enhance the living standards and provide new opportunities to members of the communities in which it operates.

Nazli said, “Children learn best through play. Apart from having a good time, allowing the children this valuable opportunity to learn at Kidzania what the world can offer is one of the ways we can educate the children on the importance of taking their studies seriously and doing well in school. We believe that all children, regardless of their circumstances should be exposed to the future opportunities that lie ahead.”

Meanwhile, Shahrul said by working with companies such as Malaysia Airports, the edutainment centre is able to uphold its tagline, Learn Life Today by giving an opportunity to the children to learn all about the different job roles through the edutainment centre’s role-playing activities.

“It is not only about learning life experiences here at KidZania Kuala Lumpur, but the life learning that comes with experiencing different jobs in our City. Our themed learning concept enables children to have fun while learning valuable lessons in which they can apply in their daily lives.”

“Part of what Learn Life Today means is to help every child find their interest and to be happy at it with the role-playing activities offered here. By bringing these students who are mostly from the Orang Asli community through this CSR programme, we are excited to open the doors of our city to share the educational and fun experience to the children,” Shahrul said further, adding that this is the second year the edutainment centre has been working with the Malaysia Airports to organise a CSR programme.

Malaysia Airports started embarking on the programme of bringing underprivileged students to Kidzania Kuala Lumpur since last year with the aim of inspiring interest and curiosity, serving as a catalyst for them to pursue their dreams.
