Community-Friendly Organisation

We explore new opportunities and invest in partnerships towards building resilience in our surrounding communities based on two SDGs which are:

End poverty in all its forms everywhere and ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services by 2030.

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

To ensure these goals are supported continuously, several programmes have been designed by Malaysia Airports to benefit the community:

Investing in Community

The nature of our efforts to support and strengthen the local community is reflected in the Malaysia Airports’ CSR Framework built on three main pillars which are Education and Youth Leadership, Community Enrichment and Malaysia Branding.

High Fliers Programme

A leadership programme known as The High Fliers programme was launched in 2017 for our employees’ children studying in secondary schools. 25 Form 1 students were chosen based on merit, with the aim of enhancing their leadership capabilities and nurturing a high performing mind-set through active learning, character development and teamwork throughout their five years in secondary school.

Education Scholarship Programme

Our Education Scholarship Programme (ESP) continues to aid outstanding students with grades above 3.5 CGPA who are usually from low to middle income families to pursue their tertiary studies at top local and foreign universities.

Beyond Borders School Adoption Programme

Beyond Borders is a three-year programme targeted for primary school students to improve English proficiency through learning English in a fun and engaging way. Since its inception in 2007, the programme has involved more than 30 schools nationwide and impacted nearly 30,000 students. The fourth phase of implementation was launched in 2017 where we adopted four new primary schools into the programme.

Celebrating Malaysian Culture

As the custodian of Malaysia’s gateways into the country, we are in a good position to promote Malaysian culture and heritage to an international audience. We have collaborated with various state and federal tourism agencies to promote the Malaysian experience at our airports.

Community Environmental Projects

We have various employee volunteerism projects that encourage our employees to participate in activities such as forest preservation and community clean ups as part of environmental project engagements.
