Malaysia Airports’ Quality Management Excellence Receives International Award

BERLIN — Malaysia Airports clinched a second successive achievement in quality management from the European Society of Quality Research (ESQR) when it received the Quality Choice Prize 2016 in Berlin on 12 December.

This was another momentous achievement in quality management for Malaysia Airports, a recognition of Malaysia Airports’ ethics and initiatives that reflects exceptional success in quality management which maximises the full potential of services through quality-oriented practices.

The Quality Choice Prize 2016 was presented by Dr A. Arista, Chief Executive Officer, European Society of Quality Research to Shariffah Monaliza Syed Lope Ariffin, Senior Manager of Corporate Quality Management, Malaysia Airports in a Gala Dinner Award ceremony held at Grand Hyatt Berlin, Germany, which was also attended by quality management experts from all over the world.

Commenting on the second successive acknowledgement from ESQR, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports said, “To receive international recognition on our quality management system is an acknowledgement of our relentless effort and continuous initiatives to improve our businesses, especially in providing the best possible services to our customers. 

“It is also a result of all stakeholders putting forth their best effort in a spirit of continuous improvement. While this is an achievement to be proud of, we take it as a challenge as well to push further towards quality management excellence at all our airports,” added Badlisham.

The annual recognition program by ESQR recognises and highlights outstanding business results, best practices, quality awareness and achievements by companies in regional and global markets. It also recognised other renowned business leaders, academic experts, quality professionals and diplomats representing different sectors from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia for their outstanding commitment, support and results in quality management strategies during the same award ceremony.

ESQR is based in Lausanne, Switzerland and handles strategic questions in quality management as well as promotes Quality Culture and continuous improvement in quality through their annual conventions, which serves as a global forum to perfect quality management techniques. ESQR promotes quality awareness, recognises good business practices, technological innovation, quality achievements in organisations worldwide, and publicises these organisations’ successful performance strategies.
