Penang International Airport Uplifts Guest Reception Service Through Implementation Of Standard Paging Board Procedures

PENANG – Penang International Airport (PIA) is uplifting the guest reception service through the implementation of standard paging board procedures for all tourism related agencies including associations, hotels and individuals who are involved in guest reception at PIA. These parties are required to abide to the standard procedures upon receiving their guests at PIA, effective today, 1 March 2016.

The main objective of the implementation is to ensure the smooth and systematic process of guest reception at PIA. This initiative is part of Malaysia Airports’ aspiration to improve passenger service levels at the airport and also to further enhance Malaysia’s reputation among tourists visiting the country. The implementation of this initiative is to ensure that passengers will be picked up by the legitimate parties with whom they have made prior arrangements.

Among others, the procedures would include the use of a standard paging board template by the relevant parties so as to ensure that these legitimate parties will be easily identifiable by the airport authorities and the public.

In kicking-start the initiative, a paging board counter has been setup at the Arrival Concourse which will be managed by Koperasi Pemandu Limo (KOPLIMO). This standard paging board initiative is a collaborative effort between Malaysia Airports and KOPLIMO with the support from Penang State Tourism, relevant government agencies such as Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD), Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ), Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) and also Persatuan Teksi dan Limo (PPLT). Malaysia Airports is confident that the implementation of standard paging board procedures will ensure a joyful experience for passengers travelling through PIA.
