Spectacular New Interactive Digital Display Brings Passengers Closer To Nature At Kl International Airport

SEPANG – Passengers travelling via KL International Airport (IATA Code: KUL) can now take enjoy spectacular interactive displays depicting panoramic flora and fauna themed views at its KLIA Main Terminal. The beautiful time-lapsed scenes are projected through the newly installed Large Format Display (LFD) that is light emitting diode (LED) based located on the walls of Anjung Malaysia at Level 5, Departure area. The new technology feature is part of the airport commercial reset plan and aims to create more joyful memories for passengers through enhanced ambience at the terminal.

Senior General Manager of Commercial Service, Malaysia Airports, Mohammad Nazli Abdul Aziz said, “Our team is constantly not only working towards driving service excellence but also creating a memorable travelling experience at the airport. These new LFD screens are just some of the many initiatives taken to realise our digital journey and stay on par with the rest of the airports in the world. Digitalization is a key industry factor and for the airport, keeping the ambiance refreshed via technology is certainly the way to go. The LFD screens are unique as not only will they capture the passenger’s attention, but they will also provide a more soothing and calming environment amidst the hustle and bustle of a busy airport like KUL.”

The LFD screens that are installed at KLIA Main Terminal use the latest technology and boast enhanced features such as higher brightness, better resolution, excellent colour uniformity, picture-perfect clarity, wide viewing angle and higher refresh rates.

Nazli also added that among other digital enhancements that are taking place include upgrading the manual directories at the airport to digital ones. He said, “Wayfinding is essential, and we want to provide a seamless journey for our passengers. We have already rolled out the MYairports mobile app last year that enables passengers to plan their journey from home to the boarding gate effortlessly. Hence, it is only timely that we should go digital for our new airport directories for the benefit of today’s passengers who are more technology savvy and desire to have information at their fingertips quickly.”

This year, passengers can look forward to new and improved services at KUL as the airport undergoes major facility upgrades at both the landside and airside of KLIA Main Terminal.
