Turkish Airlines Celebrates Its 5th Year Operating at Klia

SEPANG - Turkish Airlines’ celebrated its 5th year operating at KLIA by splurging on sweet delights for its 350 passengers who flew to Istanbul this evening. The management teams from both the airline and Malaysia Airports were at the boarding gate with the departing passengers for a casual evening of camaraderie to commemorate the special moment event since its first flight into KLIA exactly 5 years ago on 25 April 2013.

“Five years is a remarkable milestone and we are glad that we are able to share this happiness with our passengers as an appreciation for their unconditional and endless support. Most of our passengers are business and leisure travelers to Malaysia, which is seen as one of the gateways to Asia. Malaysia Airports has been a great partner and we look forward for many more years to connect people to and from Kuala Lumpur,” said Muhammed Hamza Arslan, the country manager of Turkish Airlines in Malaysia.

“There is an enormous opportunity to connect business and leisure travellers between Malaysia and Turkey. As one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, Turkish Airlines’ expansive network between the East and West, as well as its high level of service quality, will give travelers the connectivity, reliability and comfort that they deserve,” added Hamza.

The managing director of Malaysia Airports Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said, “Turkish Airlines plays a vital role in enhancing the connecting routes that KLIA can offer. We believe that the airline’s enthusiasm in delivering excellent service to the passengers has made it one of the preferred airlines among travellers. Malaysia Airports is very thankful to Turkish Airlines for choosing and retaining Kuala Lumpur as one of its global destinations. As Turkish Airlines flies to more countries in the world than any other airline, this service will greatly benefit passengers from Kuala Lumpur in terms of connectivity to other countries through Istanbul. It was also a good move by Turkish Airlines to create the camaraderie among its passengers today, for it will make the passengers feel more appreciated. This will indirectly give the right positive impression and accelerate the growth for passengers to fly via KLIA”.

When Turkish Airlines first started flying into KLIA, it offered a three time weekly service. Barely a year after that, the airline started offering daily flights till today.

At the celebration this evening, Turkish Airlines gave away its aircraft models to 4 winners during a lucky draw. The grand prize winner, on the other hand, won a pair of return flight tickets to any destination via Istanbul. Passengers who celebrated their birthdays on 25 and 26 April were also feted to a cake cutting ceremony at the boarding gate. Passengers were also served with famous Turkish delights before they took off for Istanbul.
