First Two Months See Five New International Airlines Flying To Malaysia

SEPANG - Malaysia welcomed five new international airlines in January and February 2024, heralding a good start to the new year. The expanded roster of airlines now serving KL International Airport (KUL) offers travellers with more connectivity options strengthening the airport's position as a hub within the region.

Malaysia’s Aviation Soars With 9.1% Surge In Number Of Operating Airlines

SEPANG - Malaysia's aviation remains firmly on a trajectory of recovery with a total of 72 airlines operating actively within Malaysia Airports’ (the Group) network of local airports at the end of 2023. This 9.1% surge from the preceding year has also resulted in a robust connection to a total of 147 destinations - 113 international, and 34 domestic.

3 New Airlines And Multiple New Destinations Introduced In 3Q23 Boost Continued Travel Recovery

SEPANG - The introduction of three new airlines and multiple new routes by existing partner airlines across the Malaysia Airports Group’s network of airports in Malaysia have boosted the continued recovery of air travel for 3Q23. Malaysia operations welcomed Salam Air, Super Air Jet and Sichuan Airlines at KL International Airport (KUL) while existing partner airlines added 12 new destinations and resumed 7 routes on top of their current services.

62% Of Foreign Carriers Have Resumed Operations Since Border Reopening

SEPANG – 55 out of 89, or 62% of foreign airlines have resumed operations at all five international airports in Malaysia i.e., KL International Airport (KUL), Langkawi International Airport (LGK), Penang International Airport (PEN), Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) and Kuching International Airport (KCH). Among the airlines that introduced new international destinations last month included Batik Air Malaysia (OD) which commenced Phuket from KUL with seven flights weekly.

Malaysia and Condor Airlines Initiate Summer 2019 Charter Flight Campaign

BERLIN, GERMANY, 6 MARCH 2019, 2 PM: Tourism Malaysia and Malaysia Airports have signed a Memorandum of Joint Collaboration (MoJC) with Condor Airlines today, in their continuous efforts to support the airline’s Frankfurt-Kuala Lumpur flight operations for the summer 2019 season.

The MoJC, signed by Datuk Musa Yusof, Director General from Tourism Malaysia, Mr. Mohamed Sallauddin Mohamed Shah, General Manager, Airline Marketing, from Malaysia Airports, and Condor Airlines, was witnessed by the Hon. Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia.
