KLIA And LIA Are Among World’s Best Airports For Year 2021 In Global Airport Survey

SEPANG – The global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI) has named KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LIA) as among the world’s best airports in their respective categories for the year 2021. KLIA and LIA achieved a perfect score of 5.00 in the airport categories serving over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) and 2-5 mppa respectively. ASQ benchmarks the world’s best airports in terms of overall passenger satisfaction for terminal safety, facilities, services, and cleanliness.

Penang International Airport Welcomes First VTL Passengers From Singapore

SEPANG – Penang International Airport (PIA) welcomed its first passengers travelling under the new Singapore-Penang Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) By Air  Programme today. Flight AK1730 by AirAsia was the first VTL flight to touch down at 6.40 pm carrying about 60 passengers under the programme. The aircraft  received water cannon salute while passengers were greeted with mementos to mark the special occasion. Penang is the second Malaysian destination introduced after Kuala Lumpur under the Singapore-Malaysia VTL programme. There are four airlines operating under this programme i.e.

VTL By Air Programme Implements New ‘Test And Release’ Arrival Process

SEPANG – As part of efforts to standardise the health and safety protocols for passengers travelling under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) By Air with other participating countries such as Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand, Malaysia Airports together with Ministry of Transport have obtained the approval and support from Ministry of Health to implement the ‘Test and Release’ arrival process starting from 16 March 2022.

Malaysia Airports Sees Strong Momentum On Traffic Recovery And Expects To Benefit Further With Implementation Of More Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL)

Sepang – Malaysia Airports announced its financial results for the nine months ended 30 September 2021 (9M21), reporting revenue of RM1,121.7 million. Revenue for its operations in Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG), Turkey, rose 51.1% to RM616.4 million, cushioning the 57.7% contraction in revenue for Malaysia, as compared to the same period last year. Its Malaysia operations recorded revenue of RM440.5 million, while the Group’s Qatar operations recorded an increase of 8.9% to RM64.7 million.

KL International Airport Enhances Airport Readiness To Welcome Vaccinated Travel Lane

SEPANG – KL International Airport (KLIA) is ensuring that it is ready to welcome passengers travelling under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) by Air or VTL-Air programme. The entire airport community including airlines, government agencies and service providers are ready to receive the increase in passengers and ensure that their journey is as seamless as possible. Extra measures include an additional holding lounge with 8 COVID-19 dedicated screening stations at Gate G10, on top of the existing 14 dedicated screening stations lounge at Gate G1, KLIA Main terminal.
