Airlines Resume Various Flight Routes At International Airports As Travel Demands Rise

SEPANG - Malaysia Airports welcomed the resumption of various flight routes in March 2023 as travel demands continue to rise in the region. Among them, China Southern Airlines’ (CZ) resumed flight to Penang International Airport (PEN) from Guangzhou (CAN) and AirAsia’s (AK) resumed flight between Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) and CAN.

Airports Getting Ready To Welcome Influx Of International Passengers

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is ensuring that all its international airports are ready to receive the influx of international passengers into the country once borders reopen on 1 April 2022.  Yesterday’s announcement by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the country’s transition into the endemic phase and the subsequent announcement made today by the Health Minister, YB Khairy Jamaluddin on the required safety protocols for entry into the country are welcome news for the nation’s main airport operator.

Maintaining Operational Excellence Despite Extensive Cost Containment

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (the Group) has maintained its operational excellence throughout the year despite implementing extensive cost containment measures amidst a challenging and unprecedented operating environment. This is borne out by KL International Airport’s (IATA Code: KUL) steadily increasing Airport Service Quality (ASQ) quarterly score conducted by Airports Council International. Not only did KUL’s ASQ score increased significantly from 4.76 in 2019 to 4.93 in Q1 2020, it continued increasing to culminate in a perfect score of 5/5 in Q4 2020.

Big Domestic Boost With Three-Fold Increase In Passenger Movements

SEPANG – Apart from the long holiday season and the relaxation of domestic travel restrictions, the introduction of seven new local flight routes boosted domestic passenger movements by three-fold in December 2020 when compared to the preceding month for our Malaysia operations. Over 1 million passengers traveled domestically via Malaysia Airports’ network of 39 airports in Malaysia last month, providing encouraging signs of potential for air travel recovery.

Malaysia Airports gears up for the super peak travel period encompassing two continuous public holidays

SEPANG – With two consecutive public holidays coming up leading to a long weekend for most Malaysians, Malaysia Airports is expecting higher than usual passenger traffic movements at all our airports, especially at our flagship airport KL International Airport (IATA Code: KUL). We are expecting to see an average of 160,000 daily passenger traffic movements at KUL during this period.
