Full-Scale Airport Emergency Exercise Reinforces KLIA’s Readiness And Resilience

SEPANG – KL International Airport (KLIA) concluded its full-scale airport emergency exercise today as part of efforts to reinforce the airport’s readiness and resilience in managing any crises or emergency situations. As the nation’s operator of 39 airports and STOLports, Malaysia Airports undertakes exercises of such nature annually at various airports across the country to ensure its constant preparedness.

62% Of Foreign Carriers Have Resumed Operations Since Border Reopening

SEPANG – 55 out of 89, or 62% of foreign airlines have resumed operations at all five international airports in Malaysia i.e., KL International Airport (KUL), Langkawi International Airport (LGK), Penang International Airport (PEN), Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) and Kuching International Airport (KCH). Among the airlines that introduced new international destinations last month included Batik Air Malaysia (OD) which commenced Phuket from KUL with seven flights weekly.

Monthly Passenger Movements Cross Five Million Mark For Malaysia Airports Group

SEPANG – Monthly passenger movements for the Malaysia Airports group of airports including Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG) in Turkey crossed the five million mark for the first time in 2021 in December. The Group registered a total of 5.35 million passenger movements where Malaysia operations contributed 3.11 million or 58%, and ISG contributed 2.23 million or 42%.

RM3.7 Juta Disalurkan Untuk Lebih 1,000 Kakitangan Yang Terjejas Banjir

SEPANG– Malaysia Airports telah menyediakan peruntukan sejumlah RM3.7 juta untuk tujuan menolong kakitangan yang terjejas teruk ekoran bencana banjir yang melanda beberapa negeri di Semenanjung Malaysia tempoh hari. Ini termasuk RM3.0 juta yang disalurkan untuk sumbangan wang tunai kepada seramai 1,034 kakitangan Malaysia Airports serta pelbagai jenis bantuan dijalankan semasa banjir masih melanda, antaranya misi menyelamat dan penyediaan penempatan sementara, serta bantuan keperluan asas dan pembersihan kediaman yang terjejas.

Flood Relief Support Provided To More Than 1,500 Families Wthin The Airport Vicinity Nationwide

SEPANG – More than 1,500 flood affected families withinthe airport vicinity nationwide continue to receive much needed aid and support. Areas that were badly hit by the flood include Sepang, Subang and Kuantan where Malaysia Airports and its local airport volunteers have reached out to provide rescue services, temporary shelter, food aid, basic necessities, and house cleaning under the organisation’s #MYAirportCARES initiative.

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is helping more than 1,000 flood victims and their families around Sepang with food aid and basic necessities under the #MYAirportCARES initiative. These include the community who are seeking refuge at the Masjid Sultan Abdul Samad KLIA because the road access to their homes have been temporarily cut off. These families have been provided with packed meals, dry and instant food, baby care and hygiene kits to help address some of their basic needs.

Monthly Passenger Movements In Malaysia Passes 2 Million Mark For The First Time Since The Onset Of The Pandemic

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports’ network of airports in Malaysia recorded a total of 2.3 million passenger movements in November 2021, passing the 2 million mark for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in April last year. The 77% increase from the 1.3 million recorded in October was mainly contributed by domestic passenger movements which continued to improve since the easing of interstate travel restrictions. Airports in Malaysia recorded a total of 2.15 million domestic passengers last month, an 82% increase from 1.18 million passengers in the preceding month.

Malaysia Airports Sees Strong Momentum On Traffic Recovery And Expects To Benefit Further With Implementation Of More Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL)

Sepang – Malaysia Airports announced its financial results for the nine months ended 30 September 2021 (9M21), reporting revenue of RM1,121.7 million. Revenue for its operations in Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG), Turkey, rose 51.1% to RM616.4 million, cushioning the 57.7% contraction in revenue for Malaysia, as compared to the same period last year. Its Malaysia operations recorded revenue of RM440.5 million, while the Group’s Qatar operations recorded an increase of 8.9% to RM64.7 million.

KL International Airport Enhances Airport Readiness To Welcome Vaccinated Travel Lane

SEPANG – KL International Airport (KLIA) is ensuring that it is ready to welcome passengers travelling under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) by Air or VTL-Air programme. The entire airport community including airlines, government agencies and service providers are ready to receive the increase in passengers and ensure that their journey is as seamless as possible. Extra measures include an additional holding lounge with 8 COVID-19 dedicated screening stations at Gate G10, on top of the existing 14 dedicated screening stations lounge at Gate G1, KLIA Main terminal.
