Monthly Domestic Passenger Movements Increase Three-Fold And Surpasses The 1 Million Mark For The First Time This Year

SEPANG – Monthly domestic passenger movements across Malaysia Airports’ network of airports in the country increased three-fold from 362,000 in September to 1.18 million passengers in October. This increase of 226% followed the lifting of domestic travel restrictions which had also contributed to the Group achieving more than 1 million total passenger traffic movements in Malaysia for the first time this year. Meanwhile, the Group’s combined operations in Malaysia and Turkey recorded a total of 4.1 million passenger movements last month which was a 28% increase from September.

KLIA & Langkawi International Airport Are World’s No.1 For Q2 2021

SEPANG – KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LGK) are the world’s No.1 airports for Q2 2021 in the latest global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI). Both airports achieved a perfect score of 5.0/5.0 in the industry survey that benchmarks the world’s best airports in terms of facilities and service standards. KLIA was previously in the 9th spot, scoring 4.99/5.0 for Q1 in the over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) category whereas LGK was in 3rd spot with the score of 4.97/5.00 in the 2-5 mppa category.

KL International Airport Welcomes Central Airlines As 18th Cargo Airline

SEPANG – KL International Airport (KLIA) recently welcomed its 18th cargo airline, Central Airlines (IATA Code: I9) from Shenzhen, China that will operate three times weekly using the Boeing 737F aircraft. Central Airlines (also known as Zhongzhou Airlines) is a Chinese cargo airline based in Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. Central Airlines joins two other cargo airlines i.e. Kargo Xpress and GetJet Airlines in starting operations at KLIA this year due to the strong air cargo demand during the pandemic period.

COVID-19 Private Screening Facility Opens At KLIA In July To Provide Safe, Quick And Comfortable Arrival Experience

SEPANG – Passengers travelling through KL International Airport (KLIA) will experience a new COVID-19 screening facility starting July 2021. This new facility is among several improvements that Malaysia Airports is implementing to enhance comfort and convenience while going through the necessary travel safety protocols at the airport. Passengers can look forward to shorter wait times upon arrival because this new facility will be able to produce the COVID-19 RTK and RT-PCR results within 15 minutes and 3 hours, respectively.
