Malaysia Airports Calls For Tender Of 226 Commercial Lots As Traffic Gradually Improves At Airports Nationwide

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is undergoing an open tender exercise for 226 commercial lots following the recent improvement in air traffic movements as a result of the easing of air travel restrictions. Currently, airports nationwide have a total of 808 commercial outlets, whereby about 70% have been tendered out previously and majority of this has been awarded. In executing the Group’s commercial reset initiative, this last leg of the tender for 226 commercial lots is the concluding phase to attract both local and global players to participate in offering new brands at the airports nationwid

Airports Nationwide Ready To Welcome Travellers And Remain Vigilant In Implementing Safety Measures

SEPANG – Malaysia Airports is glad to welcome travellers back to its network of 39 airports today with the lifting of local and international travel restrictions. Despite low passenger volume, airports nationwide remained in operations throughout the pandemic and had used the lull period to ensure a safe airport experience in anticipation of travel resumption. Apart from the implementation of safety measures to restore air travel confidence, facilities have also been upgraded to further enhance the travelling experience.

20 New International Destinations And 80 Additional Domestic Flights Expected To Boost Air Travel

SEPANG – A total of 20 new international destinations and 80 additional domestic flights are expected to boost air travel further for the network of airports operated by Malaysia Airports including its Turkish asset, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG). Some of the new destinations include Hamburg, Basel, Zurich, Sarajevo, Copenhagen, Lyon, and Hannover for flights from ISG with up to 25 weekly frequencies. At KLIA, Malaysia’s flag carrier Malaysia Airlines has reinstated destinations such as London and Jakarta.

Malaysia Airports Appoints Dato’ Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh As Group Chief Executive Officer

Dato’ Mohd Shukrie is a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and holds a Degree in Business Studies from the University of North London.

He started his career with Public Bank Securities Sdn. Bhd. and thereafter served with United Overseas Bank Berhad. He has amassed diverse experience throughout his career covering the consumer and corporate banking, corporate finance and advisory, mergers and acquisitions, financial services, risk management, human resources, and procurement.

YM Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin Leaves MAHB To Pursue Other Opportunities

SEPANG – The Board wishes to announce that YM Raja Azmi bin Raja Nazuddin has decided to leave MAHB as its Group Chief Executive Officer to pursue other opportunities with effect from today.  

YM Raja Azmi joined MAHB on 1 February 2016 as Chief Financial Officer before he was promoted to the position of Group Chief Executive Officer on 4 January 2019.  He has contributed significantly to MAHB during his tenure.  

The Board would like to thank YM Raja Azmi for his services and would like to wish him well in his future endeavours.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad Registers Revenue Of Rm3,868.7 Million On The Back Of A 5.1% Increase In Group Passenger Traffic In 9m19

9M19 Key Highlights

• Revenue stood at RM3,868.7 million, 7.5% higher than 9M18

• Core EBITDA for the Group increased by 8.2% to RM1,816.9 million

• Core net earnings grew 22.7% to RM507.5 million

• Passenger traffic for the Group’s network of airports grew by 5.1% to 104.6 million passengers

• Memorandum of Business Collaboration signed with Pos Aviation to facilitate airside transfer for passengers

• Strategic Partnership with Malaysia Airlines to promote Langkawi as a hub
